About Maxwell Ivey
I am a blind serial online entrepreneur with over 15 years experience, and I am here to educate your audience about the need for accessible inclusive online content in a nonthreatening way that helps them overcome the fear and or overwhelm surrounding making their businesses more inclusive. I will offer advice about making their products, services, and content more accessible to people with disabilities. More importantly I will explain the compelling why’s behind the need for accessibility and inclusion Spoiler alert my emphasis is on education, communication, & collaboration rather than compliance, legal threats, or shame. I also believe in emphasizing that becoming more inclusive is just like addressing any other issue in your business. I hope to help your listeners discover that it is progress over perfect and sincere effort over arbitrary rules. I also have advice for bloggers, podcasters, and live streamers on growing their audience by making their show more inclusive. And I can do all this while sharing funny inspiring stories from my past working as a carnival owner, amusement equipment broker, life goals coach, digital media publicist, and now accessibility advisor. I will even teach some of my lessons using examples from my experiences as a blind author, speaker, traveler, singer, song writer, and podcast host. I’m in the process of launching a new podcast called The Accessibility Advantage where I will interview business owners who have embraced accessibility and inclusion to their benefit. The podcast will also feature short accessibility tutorials and website reviews of sites or apps belonging to my clients. So stay tuned for that. If you have any questions about anything in my profile, please just ask. I learned a long time ago that it’s easier to answer awkward questions than make people guess. Thanks, Max
